So I took the bus to Copacabana at the Titicaca lake, very close to the border to Peru.Foto 04.05.17, 07 58 47Foto 04.05.17, 08 21 18Foto 04.05.17, 08 21 59Foto 04.05.17, 08 34 21Foto 04.05.17, 08 36 39

There I spent 2 nights. The first day I arrived quite late so I didn’t get see a lot except the nightlife what was not too special. The next day I started with a little 2 hours hike on my own to a very quiet beach without any people around. I had a beautiful, intense meditation. What a great feeling to finally meditate and train my mind again. That was the first time on this journey. A lot of times should follow (Actually, I am meditating daily since that day). Afterwards, I did a boat tour to one of the many islands you can visit inside the lake. I chose the most popular one. The ”Isla del sol”. The ride by boat took like 1,5 hours each way. Pretty beautiful views I can tell. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a lot of time on the island. I would have liked to see more of it as it’s actually very huge and you could easily live there a few days (there are many hostels) and do hikes to different nice spots every day. I just had like 2 hours. So I ran around trying to take as many photos as possible. Still, it was worth it. I was able to see ruins, ancient stairs, the culture of the locals and some very beautiful views. As it’s not expensive driving there I would definitely recommend to book a hostel for some nights and enjoy the beauty and atmosphere of this island.

After I arrived back in Copacabana I just had enough time to rush up the most popular of the hills there to watch a very beautiful sunset. The lake is so huge you are never able to see the end of it. So it feels like the sun does a touchdown at the horizon of a sea.

The next day, my last day in beautiful Bolivia I hiked up another hill with the observatory of Cobacabana at the peak. There’s plenty of rocks everywhere which keep away any light in night time. Must be super nice watching the stars from there. I wouldn’t do it though. The hike is not quite undangerous when it’s dark, I guess. I’m not bad in hiking but still it was a task coming up to the top. Once I arrived at the peak and after taking some photos I had a very relaxing meditation on top of one of the highest rocks.

In the evening it was time to leave Bolivia.

What an awesome country, culture, atmosphere, environment… I totally fell in love with Bolivia. It’s definitely not the last time! Miss the country and the people so much already even though I didn’t even leave Bolivia a month ago and am actually still traveling. I’m so grateful I’ve had the chance to get these experiences. Everybody should consider Bolivia as a destination for their travels!
